Why did you become a music teacher?
“Music was always important to me growing up through school. I was always very good at it. I always loved helping with group sectionals and being able to teach others that were trying to learn the violin. When I was in my last years of high school, I knew I wanted to teach music. When I was in college, I worked at my high school during orchestra camp as a guest clinician. That experience helped me grow as a teacher and musician. Being able to encourage others to follow their dreams, to see their smiles on their face when you know you’ve made a difference in teaching or helped them achieve their goal in music is why I teach. I want to be that teacher that makes a difference.”
What is your coolest experience in music so far?
“Some of my favorite musical experiences were when I got to play with the Towson University Symphony Orchestra at the Hayden Orchestra Festival at the Kennedy Center, the opera orchestras of Riders to the Sea and Die Fledermaus, and when I was part of the second performance of the Emancipation Jubilation for the 150th Anniversary.”
