Improve Your Time
Playing rhythmically is perhaps one of the greatest challenges all musicians face. The best way to improve your "time" is to practice with a metronome. But how many of you out there actually practice with the metronome?

Most of us merely put the machine on and play along with it. We all assume that since the metronome is on, that we're playing in time.

I suggest that you put your instrument down, turn on the metronome and clap with the beat. If indeed you have good time you will not hear that annoying little click.

It takes much practice to achieve this, but is well worth the exercise. A hint to help you is to subdivide the beat. Start by saying the rhythm syllables, then think them. Good Luck!
